Applications are invited for:
Estates Management Office
Senior Estate Manager / Estate Manager I (Buildings & Grounds Maintenance) (Ref. 20000230) (Closing date: January 19, 2021)
The appointee will (a) act as Registered Inspector of Mandatory Building Inspection Scheme (MBIS) of Buildings Department whenever asked by the University; (b) manage, supervise and co-ordinate renovation, A&A works, maintenance and repair works with internal staff, contractors/consultants and users/stakeholders of the University; (c) conduct MBIS, modification and feasibility studies to any buildings/projects as assigned; (d) prepare tender documents, budget, memo, technical proposal, work progress, inspection and incident reports for the A&A works, renovation, maintenance and repair works; (e) lead and supervise internal staff in A&A works, renovation, maintenance and repair works; and (f) perform other technical and administrative duties as assigned. He/She may be required to work overtime, on shifts and on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays when necessary.
Applicants should be/have (i) a Registered Inspector of MBIS; (ii) a recognised Bachelor’s degree in Building Surveying or other related disciplines; (iii) at least 10 years’ experience in supervising renovation, A&A works, MBIS, maintenance and repair, with exposure in statutory submission and monitoring outsource contractors/consultants subsequent to fulfilling (ii) above; (iv) sound knowledge of building ordinances and statutory submission process; (v) good knowledge of project management, cost control, tendering and contract administration; and (vi) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese. Hands-on experience in preparing manuals, schedules, tender documents and discussion papers is preferred. Those with less but at least 7 years’ relevant experience subsequent to fulfilling (i) above may be considered for appointment as Estate Manager I. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Appointment will be made on a 1-year contract.
