Department of Social Work

Assistant Computer Officer (carrying the job title of ‘ICT Officer’)
(Ref. 2100007J) (Closing date: February 16, 2021)

The Department of Social Work is recruiting an Assistant Computer Officer to support the implementation of CLAP for Youth @ JC (“CLAP”) Phase II, which is a five-year project initiated and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The Project aims to foster a sustainable ecosystem to facilitate youth with their transition from school to work, enabling them to pursue a fulfilling life through cross-sector collaborations in school, community and workplace.

The appointee will be responsible for (a) publishing e-learning hub and materials; (b) editing the project website; (c) providing frontline technical support to users; and (d) performing other tasks as assigned.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline; (ii) at least 2 years’ relevant work experience in developing e-learning materials; and (iii) the following attributes:
•    Values: Believing in the values of creating social good and social innovation; having commitment to promote youth development; and embracing teamwork and collaboration;
•    Attitudes: Being open-minded and motivated to learn; and enjoying working with people from all walks of life;    
•    Skills: With the ability to communicate with different parties, including IT companies, researchers and end-users; with a good command of English and Chinese; and the ability to work independently and under pressure; and
•    Knowledge: With thorough understanding on e-learning.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity commencing March 2021, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
